Professional wrestling organization AEW (American Extreme Wrestling) has, in the aftermath of a frightening injury suffered by “Hangman” Adam Page, has indefinitely outlawed all maneuvers in the clothesline and lariat family.
Page was knocked unconscious, suffered a concussion, and defecated slightly in his trunks after being clotheslined by Jon Moxley during a recent AEW bout.
AEW boss Tony Khan announced during a press conference following the match that “clotheslines and lariats are clearly dangerous and have no place in professional wrestling.”
The company than issued a full list of banned maneuvers:
- Short-arm clothesline
- Rebound clothesline
- Springboard clothesline
- Moss-Covered Three-Handled Family Gradunza clothesline
- Three-point stance clothesline
- Crooked arm lariat
- Flying lariat
- Discuss larait
- Northern lariat
- Enzuilariato
- Western lariat
- Collar-and-elbow tie-up
Khan said AEW has a “zero tolerance policy” for clotheslines, and has even banned its performers from drying their laundry outdoors on a taut rope.
