The self-professed “number-one fan” of former professional wrestler CM Punk was delighted this morning when he came face-to-face with his idol in the mirror.
The admitted “superfan” could barely believe his eyes — or his good fortune — when he saw his hero’s face staring back at him from a bathroom medicine cabinet.
“Oh my god, I am a huge fan,” he gushed, trying not to sound too overzealous.
“I can’t believe I’m in the same room as you right now!”
Punk smiled at the fan — not too enthusiastically, cautious to maintain his trademark smarmy aloofness — and offered to sign an autograph.
Punk graciously stayed by the mirror for nearly 20 minutes — even skipping MMA training, since his UFC debut is still at least five years away, by modest estimates — during which he and the fan chatted about Punk’s favorite hardcore bands, The Walking Dead, and Pepsi.
After posing for a “selfie” with the fan, Punk then headed to a nearby comic book shop, winking at his reflection in every storefront window he passed along the way.
